Front Assist and City Emergency

The Crafter comes with state-of-the-art driver assistance systems. Available as standard, Front Assist uses a radar to monitor your distance from the traffic in front and alerts you if you are too close. City Emergency Braking reduces the chance of a collision by triggering emergency braking when it detects critical distances.

Trailer Assist

Available as an option, Trailer Assist automatically manoeuvers the vehicle if fitted with a trailer during parallel and reverse parking.

Park Assist

This optional extra aids positioning into parking spaces. When reverse gear is engaged, the vehicle automatically assumes control of the steering. All the driver has to do is operate the clutch, accelerator and brake.

Crosswind Assist

As part of the Electronic Stabilisation Programme (ESP), Crosswind Assist applies adaptive braking intervention when the vehicle encounters a strong crosswind. Standard on Crafter panel vans.

Side Protection

Available as an option, Side Protection alerts you with visual and audible warnings if you're getting too close to other vehicles, pillars, walls or pedestrians.

Rear Traffic Alert

Available as an option, Rear Traffic Alert helps by emitting an audible warning when reversing out of a parking space if another vehicle is getting too close. If the driver fails to respond, the system intervenes and applies braking to help avoid a collision.

Electromechanical Servotronic Steering

Fitted as standard, Electromechanical Servotronic steering provides a speed-sensitive operation with active return. This improves the steering sensation around the mid-point, providing a level of steering precision previously nonexistent in commercial vehicles.

Automatic Post-Collision Braking System

The Crafter features a system that triggers braking after a collision to prevent a second impact. After a short delay, the vehicle begins a phased braking action down to 6 mph, during which the driver can take over at any time.
